The Corpus Christi Law Enforcement Fishing Tournament (CCLEFT), benefiting the CCLEFT Law Enforcement Scholarship Fund, and other local Coastal Bend charities, is seeking sponsors for the 2009 fishing tournament.

About CCLEFT:
Karl Wright CCLEFT Director
The CCLEFT is an IRS recognized 501 c (3) organization. The tournament has two main goals: an entertaining weekend for Public Safety personnel and their supporters, and fundraising for local non-profits with an emphasis on crime reduction and youth. Last year, CCLEFT gave over $17,000 to local charities including , The Fraternal Order of Police “Shop with a Cop” program, The Corpus Christi Police Officers Association “St. Michaels Fund”, and The Corpus Christi Police Law Enforcement Fishing Tournament Scholarship Fund.

The adult tournament traditionally kicks off with a meet and greet social event that in 2009 attracted 353 anglers and their guests (estimated 600+ in attendance) from across the state, making it an ideal venue for vendors to showcase their companies and products while showing support for area law enforcement. The meet and greet features a meal, door prizes, and a silent auction. On tournament day, after fishing, the anglers and their guests meet for an awards ceremony, dinner, and door prizes.

About The  CCLEFT Law Enforcement Scholarship Fund: The Corpus Christi Police Law Enforcement Fishing Tournament Scholarship Fund has been created to provide backing for area students seeking degrees in Law Enforcement related fields of study. In addition, applications will be solicited from other area local non-profits focused on crime reduction and area youth for funding.
